Alright with lines like: ” Hey! Let me see your hand canon” and “Stay Sharp! Like a Razor.” How do expect me to take this film as a good serious horror film. Oh and those lines are only the beginning, I mean this film is chop full of one-liners that are more funny than scary.
Ok so where do I begin. There are so many low budget horror films, wait let me rephrase that, Independent horror films that revolve around hunting demons, there all pretty much one half dozen of the other. And guess what folks. This one is no different than all the other direct to video demon hunter films. The same cheesy scene that involves a bunch of half naked demon chicks doing a ritual in a room that looks more like a high school guy than a sacred evil temple. And we also have the martial artist type demon hunters that can snap a demons neck like I can snap my fingers.
The story is about demons living in our world and the secret “Two Guardians” also known as Demon Hunters and their special task force to track down and kill a demon clan whom got there hands on some all might sacred artifacts that can literary bring all the demons of hell to the earth. There’s even a Robocop demon, that looks more like C3-PO’s evil brother.
I really don’t know what to say about this film. On one hand the production value is not half bad, and the make-up effects are pretty decent. But then on the other hand the script, although straight to the point and simple lacks in terms of good dialogue. I can’t really say much for the acting, I mean it just seemed way to raw and took away from the whole feeling of the film. I really didn’t care much for any of the characters, nor did I care much for what the film had to offer.
Overall, Like I stated above it falls into the category of “another direct to video” demon film that we’ve all seen before. It’s not by any means a great film at all, but I’m sure it entertain a teenage crowd that wants to rent a scary film to watch. As far as us hardcore horror fans go, it’s just another one of those bad movies we don’t want to waste our time watching.
