There are so many movies that involve Demons, that I really did not think this one could be any different from the rest of them. In short, I was right, “Demon Hunter” is just like all those other demon films out there. However “Demon Hunter” is a quick and direct to the point film, leaving all of the B.S. behind.
“Demon Hunter” is about a guy who is in fact a demon hunter, he is half human and half demon, although he look human during the whole film. He is hunting out the devils army and destroying each and every demon he encounters, however with each demon he kills he finds that each of them seem to be getting stronger and stronger with each body the possess. However he soon finds that Satan master plan is to plant his seed within a few prostitutes. The Demon Hunter must stop the devil before the anti Christ is born.
The script and plot are very simple, a very straight to the point film that is easy to follow. Like I mentioned above it’s a story we’ve all seen before, You can really compare this film to “Constantine” in that both main characters have the same purpose. However Satan makes himself more known in this film.
The acting is a bit weak at times, but is overall ok. The performances seem to make the film feel more like a weekly television series on the WB than a regular motion picture. The actors even look like they are made up for a TV role.
The effects are nothing great, some pretty low budget looking demon make-up, and of course we get our usual blood. However we do get some cool kick ass fight scenes.
Overall, “Demon Hunter” is a straight forward film, it’s to the point, which makes it a pleasure to watch. It’s nothing great, but it’s a decent story that’s easy to watch. Overall I say give it a go, if you got some time to kill. The film is only 79 minutes long, so it won’t be a huge waste of time should you decide the film not for you. I personally found it to be just an alright film.
