A Practical Heathen’s Guide to Asatru

I’ve been reading a lot of Nordic heathen practitioner guides and fiction in the past few months. This is the most dense and informative of the three I’ve read. The other two being Asatru for Beginners: A Modern Heathen’s Guide to the Ancient Northern Way by Mathias Nordvig, PhD and The Way of Fire and Ice: The Living Tradition of Norse Paganism. If you are not familiar with Asatru, I suggest you read the other two books, but if you are ready to delve deeper into the mystery and spirituality of heathens, Mrs. Lafayllve’s A Practical Guide to Asatru is jampacked with everything from learning about the different gods and goddesses, rules of being a heathen, including how to be a gracious host or visitor, rune binding, and celebrating different blots, including the entire ceremony and the tools you will need. This book shows you how to apply the old ways to your modern life.

It took me a few days to get through this one because I had to absorb all the wonderful information given, but this one is in my Nordic collection as a main reference book to refer to when needed now. I am not a heathen, but I am leaning in that direction after reading all the books I have lately. Currently, I’m just pagan and a kitchen witch

The next book hers I’m jumping into is: Freyja, Lady, Vanadis: An Introduction to the Goddess
